Surrounded by the rolling hills, the sweeping driveway and the unmistakable charm of Pitlochry, the venue offers a setting that feels timeless, warm and beautifully cinematic. As their wedding videographer at Atholl Palace Hotel, it was a pleasure to be part of their day and to craft a teaser trailer that captures the atmosphere, emotion and fun that unfolded from morning to evening.
Their morning prep began with a relaxed energy. Both Emma and Callum were surrounded by supportive friends and family, and there was a genuine sense of excitement in the air. The rooms at Atholl Palace Hotel always give a lovely backdrop for these early parts of the day, with soft natural light and a calmness that works perfectly for filming. The morning set the tone for everything that followed, a balance of laughter, nerves and those small, genuine moments that mean so much later on.
Working alongside Iain Struthers Photography was another highlight. Iain and I have teamed up numerous times, and having that familiar rhythm behind the scenes helps everything flow naturally. We both know when to step forward for a key moment and when to step back to let things unfold. This adds an easy atmosphere that couples always appreciate.
One of the reasons couples love this venue is the charming interiors that lend themselves beautifully to morning preparations. Emma’s room was full of laughter and excitement, and her dress from Brides of Chester looked stunning against the classic décor. Hair and makeup by Laura Fairley Hair, Makeup and Reiki brought everything together perfectly, and it was clear how relaxed everyone felt from the start.
Callum’s morning had the same warmth, with friends helping keep the mood light as they prepared for the ceremony. The atmosphere in both rooms reflected the tone of the day, relaxed and full of joy.
As a wedding videographer at Atholl Palace Hotel, you are spoiled for choice with locations that look incredible on camera. The sweeping lawns, landscaped gardens and charming stonework all bring a cinematic quality to a wedding day without ever needing to venture far. Emma and Callum made great use of these surroundings, and their couple moments flowed naturally between the indoor and outdoor spaces.
Working alongside Iain Struthers Photography again was a real highlight, as we both know how to move around each other easily, ensuring the couple gets the best experience and beautifully balanced coverage.
The ceremony was heartfelt and full of warmth, setting the tone for a day overflowing with happiness. The drinks reception that followed was buzzing, and guests relaxed quickly into the celebrations. The speeches were a perfect mix of humour and sincerity, and the room was full of laughter from start to finish.
As evening arrived, the dance floor came to life thanks to the brilliant band Fudge Machine who kept everyone moving well into the night. Their energy added a fantastic rhythm to the film and captured the spirit of Emma and Callum’s celebration perfectly.
